BMW REPAIRS YOU SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT ON YOUR OWN

There are easy fixes that nearly anyone who owns any kind vehicle can do and probably should know. These BMW repairs include fixing a flat tire, filling up the windshield wiper reservoirs, checking and/or changing oil, etc. However, modern cars are very sophisticated machines and the BMW is among the most complicated kinds of car there is on the market. In other words, there are some repairs to this precision machine that you should try to DIY. Here are five prime examples of when it’s best to back off in order to protect your BMW and yourself.

  • Body work and paint:  BMWs are known for their distinctive and elegant look for a reason – BMW makers use special finishes at the factory that requires careful color-matching. An ordinary, non-mechanic could end up not only taking away from the stately look of the BMW, he/she could actually end up damaging his/her vehicle at the same time.
  • Transmission maintenance:  Even experienced auto mechanics undergo specialized training to be able to properly service and repair transmissions. And attempting to repair one because you are “mechanically inclined” is a lot like a high school student who got an A in physiology attempting to do brain surgery. Steer clear of attempting to repair this complicated and vital part of your BMW as any errors you make could endanger your safety.
  • Windshield replacement : A windshield protects you from the elements and any damage to it can endanger your safety as well. Moreover, attempting to replace the windshield on your own could lead to leaks and other problems as this large piece of glass must be precisely matched, measured and installed.
  • Suspension component replacement:  Many repairs to suspension components are relatively simple in other car models. However, the BMW is different. Its suspension is very complex. The average DIYer shouldn’t even begin to ponder making extensive repairs to these components.

In short, the inner components of most kinds of vehicles are getting more and more complex. This is especially the case with luxury vehicles like BMWs, Audis and Porsches, the Mercedes, etc. If you want to extend the life of your BMW and keep you, your passengers and other drivers safe don’t treat your vehicle like a tinker toy. Follow  factory recommended maintenance  and hire professionals to help you with issues that may be over your head. We specialize in  BMW repair  and can handle issues from replacing spark plugs to alternator and engine service and repair.
